We had an un-birthday tea party this afternoon to gear up for our Alice in Wonderland movie day!

- Cheshire Cat smiles (cantaloupe)

We then attempted to build a house of cards that the Queen of Hearts would be proud of. We quickly discovered we are not that great at building with cards! Ha! But we had a lot of fun trying!

Then we watched the movie. Skylar though it was pretty cute…she even sat still for a good 10 minutes to watch it! Open-mouthed smile

Last year we met the fabulous Alice during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. 068

We had tried to have breakfast with her at 1900 Park Fare, but she had fallen down the wrong rabbit hole! We did get to meet The Mad Hatter, and he thought Sami was a good stand in for that silly Alice….

We all LOVE the tea cups at Magic Kingdom!!! This was Sami’s first ride on the tea cups…

Later we enjoyed it as a family….

Disney Family Movie Night- Mary Poppins

I love Mary Poppins…she is practically perfect in every way you know! Winking smile
We started off our movie night with a craft. The girls made their own kites.

We tried to fly a kite, but there was no wind. We did sing about it though…”Let’s go fly a kite….”
Then we channeled our inner artists and created chalk drawings like Bert. It was really hot and sticky outside, so we weren’t out there very long.

Sadly we were not able to jump into them…we lacked the Mary magic I suppose.
I’ve been wondering how tall Sami is, so just as Mary measures Jane and Michael I measured the girls. Skylar is 32 inches and Sami is 48 inches….which means she is officially tall enough to ride nearly everything at Disney!
We had a tea party to go along with the movie. Finger sandwiches, scones, fruit, and mini cakes. I also let Sami try some tea…let’s just say she was not a fan!
We played with Sami’s clock and worked on telling time. We didn’t set off any cannons like Admiral Boom though. Winking smile
We also told each other jokes like the bankers do, but ours weren’t very funny…so we didn’t have to think sad thoughts to come down from the ceiling.
We had the pleasure of meeting Mary Poppins and Bert last year at breakfast. They were really cute….

Our next movie will be Alice in Wonderland….

Meal Invitations and More Decorations

I love adding a little extra magic to our trips.

This year I decided to make invitations for the girls to all of meals, and special events. I had some help from a very creative member of the DISboards, and I am so happy with how they came out!

(I took pictures of each one so I will always remember them! LOL)

(Chef Mickey’s            Ohana Breakfast)

The invitations are now in envelopes, and I will put them out for the girls to find after they have gone to sleep. I used the “Waltograph” font to print the envelopes because Sami is getting too smart for me. If I had hand written them she would of known I made them not her favorite characters.

(Garden Grill)

003

(Liberty Tree Tavern and Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party)

004

(50’s Prime Time CafĂ©     1900 Park Fare Dinner)

(Crystal Palace)

008

(Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique        Cinderella’s Royal Table)

These Mickey bubble’s will go on our door…or maybe in our window. I love Matt’s…it turned out so cute!

Crazy and over the top? Perhaps! But that’s what happens when you have a whole year to plan! Hahahahaha!

Disney Family Movie Night- 101 Dalmatians

101 Dalmatians is one of our favorite movies! We had a simple movie night since it is a school night.

We started off with dinner…

On the menu:

-Dog Food (aka sloppy joe in a bowl)

-Dog Bones (aka biscuits shaped like bones)

-Water bowls

001

Sami tried to eat like a dog, but that was only fun for 2.3 seconds! Then we put our sloppy joe’s on the biscuits! Ha! They were pretty yummy that way!

Our next activity was making Kanine Krunchies (aka Chex Puppy Chow) for dessert. Sami loves to help in the kitchen!

After we cleaned up our cooking mess the girls decorated dog pictures with bingo dotters.
