We started the journey of Sami’s first Nutcracker with auditions in September. They asked her if she wanted to be a “party child” or a “mouse” she decided to being a mouse sounded like fun. Auditions were on a Saturday, and the next day there was a parent meeting. I learned all about the production process, volunteering, and that Sami was indeed a mouse. =)
She had rehearsals once a week leading up to the production dates. I learned from veteran moms that the mice were SO cute, and such a fun part. I volunteered as a phone mom, and I also worked as a room mom. Sami LOVED the entire process. I knew she was hooked when she turned around in dress rehearsal and asked me if she could audition for Sleeping Beauty! Ha!
They performed at The Star Plaza Theatre in Merrillville. Two day shows, and two night shows. It was a long few days, but she loved it. It did take us a few days to recover though! Ha!
Ok…now for the fun part…the pictures!
Sami has a very dear little friend from dance named Fayeth. Fayeth has been her buddy since day one of class. They call each other “dance bff’s” it is too cute!
Action shots…
I think one of Sami’s favorite parts of performing is seeing all of her “fans”! Thank you so much to all who came to support her love of dance.
