We were all rested and ready for our day at Disneyland! Skylar even helped get Spencer ready for the day!
I had added ribbons to the girls’ skirts to wear with t-shirts. They were also a big hit at the parks. Here’s a closer look…
We were in the park as soon as it opened. We were on a mission to get the kids new Mickey ear hats. We want them to get a new pair each trip. They already have quite the collection growing! As we walked toward the Mad Hatter shop we spotted some characters!
Skylar was NOT sure about meeting the Queen of Hearts- she said “I don’t like her- her is mean!” We assured her The Queen would be very nice to her because she was wearing red, and that is her favorite color!!! Poor Spencer was ready for a nap by this point, and wasn’t very happy to be in the stroller while the girls were hanging out with these fun people! In fact- he was screaming in protest! The White Rabbit felt bad for him- he walked over- tucked him in with his blanket- rubbed his hand-and he stopped crying!!! It was so sweet!
Then we went in the Mad Hatter where the kids all bought new ears. They all looked so cute in them!
We walked right through Sleeping Beauty Castle and into Fantasyland. It is adorable! We rode Peter Pan first. Sami LOVED it, and declared it is much better than Disney World’s version. We quickly made our way through all of the Fantasyland rides, and Spencer had his first ride on a carousel!
I was really excited to ride Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride! Matt had experienced it when he was a little boy, but didn’t remember anything about it. By the time I started going to Disney World Mr. Toad had already handed off the deed to Winnie the Pooh, so I was excited to check it out! Boy oh boy is it WILD!!!! I really thought Skylar was going to fly out of our car! I had to hold on to her!!! She loved it though, and giggled the whole time!
Spencer needed a bottle, and a snuggle- so he and I took a break while Matt and the girls rode Dumbo. You can’t be at Disney without a ride in a flying elephant! Sami told Skylar “I won’t make it go too high for you!” and Skylar said “no Sami let’s go higher and HIGHER!!!!” I think she is going to be Matt’s ride buddy!
Our next stop was “It’s a Small World”- the holiday version!
It was ADORABLE!!!! Each country was decorated for Christmas, and the children were singing Christmas carols. I loved it!!!!
Next we stopped for a spot of tea. I thought The Mad Tea party was so cute all open with no cover! The girls and Matt spun our tea cup wildly and I thought Spencer and I were going to spew! Ha!
The girls were craving churros (this was their go to snack of the trip) so we stopped for a snack before getting in line for Alice in Wonderland. Unfortunately the ride broke down when it was almost our turn, and they had to fix it.
The girls were begging to swim, and who could say no to their faces?? So we headed out for the afternoon to swim.
Skylar had so much fun on these waterslides! I can’t get over how brave she is!!!
After they swam for about an hour I gave the kids baths and put warmer clothes on them. The evenings got pretty chilly. Not cold- just chilly. We went back to Disneyland, and Alice was fixed! We rode it two times in a row!! It was getting close to the time for the Christmas parade, so I asked a cast member where a good place to sit was, and he showed me an area that hadn’t been roped off yet. He said “just wait RIGHT here!”, so I did…and I’m so glad we did! We had a front row seat! The parade was adorable!
We followed the end of the parade back to It’s a Small World to see the Christmas lights all lit up! It was gorgeous! Apparently everyone else did this as well because it was super crowded back there!
We were hungry and tired, so we left the park- hit McDonald’s on our way- changed into pj’s- and ate in bed! It was a lovely day!!!

So...I've read all of your posts, but I hate replying from my Kindle & I keep putting it off! :)
It looks you guy had SUCH a great time! I love that you got to go on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. That was always my favorite at Disney World when I was little!
The Christmas It's A Small World sounds like lots of fun! And I *LOVE* that Skylar wanted her elephant to go higher and higher...too cute!
By the way, the ribbon skirts are super cute! Good job!
