We woke up refreshed and ready to go have breakfast with Minnie and all of her friends at the Plaza Inn! Our reservation was for five minutes after park opening, so we were able to use the character breakfast entrance. The girls were wearing their pillowcase dresses and Spencer had on his “tie shirt” for the occasion!
I think this was our most favorite character breakfast we’ve ever had! The food was your typical Disney breakfast buffet- biscuits and gravy, bacon and sausage, eggs, potatoes, cereal, etc. What we loved was the characters!!! There was a random mix and it really felt like they were welcoming us to their kingdom!!! The kids were able to meet so many fun characters that morning!
Tigger was a favorite, and came back a few times to visit with Spencer!
Sami gave Rabbit a HUGE hug, and told him how very soft he is!!! Rabbit thought that was pretty great, and gave her another giant hug!
I could hardly contain my excitement when we saw Pip the Penguin!!!! Mary Poppins is my MOST favorite Disney movie, so I may have actually squealed with joy!
Minnie loved the girls’ dresses! She seemed very impressed they were matching her!
The Fairy Godmother was very impressed with the girls’ autograph books! She even asked Skylar if her own Fairy Godmother had made them!
Skylar saw Captain Hook, and she refused to eat until he came to our table! When he finally made it over she said “Captain- Smee is SOOOO silly!” He thought that was very funny, and had a huge belly laugh!
After breakfast we tried to get a classic family photo in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, however, the sun was really not cooperating! We said we would try again later, but sadly we never did!
After our failed photo attempt we checked out the fire station a bit….
We then hopped over to Disney’s California Adventure. It is SO easy to park hop between the two parks since they are so close to each other! We stumbled on a dance party with Phineas and Ferb! Who can resist a dance party??? So we jumped right in!
After dancing our hearts out we walked right on to Ariel’s Undersea Adventure. It was very cute! We can’t wait to see the Disney World version!
Next we made our way over to Toy Story Midway Mania. There is no Fastpass option for this one unlike the Hollywood Studios version. The line seemed to hover around 20 minutes which is just crazy to me! Just goes to show how the parks can be similar, yet so different! We grabbed our 3D glasses, and enjoyed chatting with Mr. Potato Head.
After our thrilling ride (Matt had the highest score- of course) we met Jake! Skylar was really excited to meet him!
We tried to ride Monsters Inc. next, but it was temporarily closed- so the girls went with Matt to the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. Skylar was a little small for some of the activities, but Sami had a great time!
After all of the playing it was time for a snack! Sami was ALL about churros on this trip! In fact- every time she saw a churro cart she asked for one!
We were finally able to ride Monsters, Inc. which was very cute! We explored the Sorcerer’s Workshop next. You learn all about animation here. Sami enjoyed drawing her own cartoon! Skylar loved putting her voice into a movie!
Turtle Talk with Crush is also right there, so we went in to see what he has been up to. Sami was even chosen to ask a question!
The girls were requesting to swim, so we went back to the hotel. There are actually two pools at the Howard Johnson, and they used both that day!
I couldn’t get over how brave Skylar has gotten with swimming! She used to not leave the steps! Now she will jump in and go down the big waterslide!
It got a little chilly in the evenings, so we put on our jeans and tried to decide what to eat for dinner. We were surrounded by delicious Disney choices, but Sami begged us to go to Denny’s!!! What did she want so badly from Denny’s??? A salad!!!! Ha!
We had picked up Fastpasses earlier in the day for World of Color, so after dinner we headed back to see the show! We had some time to kill, so we hung out on Paradise Pier. Sami finally decided to start riding some bigger rides! We had a lot of fun taking turns riding with her!
The little kids were tired from the long day. They were perfectly happy sucking their thumbs and sleeping in the stroller.
We found a pretty good spot to watch World of Color. We had about 45 minutes until it was going to start, so what did we do??? Snack of course!
World of Color was amazing!!! Sami and I have both decided it is our favorite show!
It was the perfect way to end the night!!! Feeling all magical as we slowly made our way back to the hotel.
