Falling for Fall
I love decorating for fall too! Today I decided to combine my love of fall and Disney…and I made a Mickey wreath for our door! I love how it turned out!
I even incorporated some “Hidden Mickey’s”…
I want to make Mickey wreaths for all of the seasons now!

Disney Family Movie Night- A Bug’s Life
I’ve always thought this was a cute movie! Skylar really likes bugs. I think she thinks each one should come inside and be a pet! Ha!
During Skylar’s naptime Sami, Matt (he is off all weekend for Labor Day!!!!), and I painted our own bugs. We made them out of egg cartons…
Then Skylar woke up, so it was time to eat!!! We planned a picnic, but it was about to storm. No worries…picnics are still fun inside!
Our picnic meal….
(Fried chicken, fruit, potato chips, coleslaw, and juice boxes)
I made dirt cups (chocolate pudding, crushed Oreos, and gummy worms) for dessert. This was Skylar’s first time having pudding…she is for sure a fan!!!!
We also played The Ladybug Game together. I had planned to hunt for lightning bugs, but the bad weather didn’t allow for that. Everyone enjoyed the movie.
Sami is hoping to meet this cutie while we are visiting Animal Kingdom in a few weeks…
(Picture borrowed from Google)
She also is excited to experience It's Tough To Be a Bug while we are there. I have a feeling she isn’t going to like it very much, but you never know until you try…right???
Up next….The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Disney Family Movie Night- Alice in Wonderland
We had an un-birthday tea party this afternoon to gear up for our Alice in Wonderland movie day!
On the menu:
-Finger sandwiches
- “Eat Me” sugar cookies
- “Drink Me” juice boxes
- Un-birthday cupcakes
- Cheshire Cat smiles (cantaloupe)
We then attempted to build a house of cards that the Queen of Hearts would be proud of. We quickly discovered we are not that great at building with cards! Ha! But we had a lot of fun trying!
Then we watched the movie. Skylar though it was pretty cute…she even sat still for a good 10 minutes to watch it!
Last year we met the fabulous Alice during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.
We had tried to have breakfast with her at 1900 Park Fare, but she had fallen down the wrong rabbit hole! We did get to meet The Mad Hatter, and he thought Sami was a good stand in for that silly Alice….
We all LOVE the tea cups at Magic Kingdom!!! This was Sami’s first ride on the tea cups…
Later we enjoyed it as a family….
These topiaries are pretty cute too….
A Very Merry Un-birthday to YOU!!!!!!
Up next….A Bug’s Life!

Disney Family Movie Night- Mary Poppins
We started off our movie night with a craft. The girls made their own kites.
We tried to fly a kite, but there was no wind. We did sing about it though…”Let’s go fly a kite….”
Then we channeled our inner artists and created chalk drawings like Bert. It was really hot and sticky outside, so we weren’t out there very long.
Sadly we were not able to jump into them…we lacked the Mary magic I suppose.
I’ve been wondering how tall Sami is, so just as Mary measures Jane and Michael I measured the girls. Skylar is 32 inches and Sami is 48 inches….which means she is officially tall enough to ride nearly everything at Disney!
We had a tea party to go along with the movie. Finger sandwiches, scones, fruit, and mini cakes. I also let Sami try some tea…let’s just say she was not a fan!
We played with Sami’s clock and worked on telling time. We didn’t set off any cannons like Admiral Boom though.
We also told each other jokes like the bankers do, but ours weren’t very funny…so we didn’t have to think sad thoughts to come down from the ceiling.
We had the pleasure of meeting Mary Poppins and Bert last year at breakfast. They were really cute….
Our next movie will be Alice in Wonderland….
