Disney World 2010- Day 8 (continued)

After we left Downtown Disney we were off to Magic Kingdom. Months before I had asked Sami who she would want to eat with if she could eat with ANY characters on her birthday…she said Winnie the Pooh. Huh…really??? Okay…so…we were off to Crystal Palace for lunch!

My poor mom…this was her first time going to Magic Kingdom, and I had her practically running down Main Street to make our reservation on time. I felt bad, but Sami REALLY wanted to eat with Pooh and his friends, and I didn’t know how late would could be before they would give away our reservation. And for those who know me…you know late isn’t something I know how to be! Winking smile

We made it with one minute to spare…and then next thing we knew they were calling our name!

The food here was REALLY yummy! But of course the girls’ favorite part was meeting all of the characters…

After we took care of the rubbly in our tumbly we went to Fantasyland for some fun!

Poor Skylar was SO tired she would sleep anywhere…

309

Sami wanted to go see Ariel since she was dressed as her for the day…Ariel thought she was beautiful! Prince Eric couldn’t tell them apart…ha! Winking smile

We stopped to watch the parade…which Skylar LOVED…

I took this picture as we were walking out of Magic Kingdom for the last time…and…I cried…

Thankfully we had one more fun thing to do…Cinderella’s Storybook Dinner at The Grand Floridian. We hopped on a monorail and did a little shopping while we waited for our reservation time. There was a man playing piano, and Matt asked Sami to dance with him…oh…and then I cried again! =)

327329

I had heard GREAT things about the step-sisters during this dinner, and we were NOT disappointed! They were SOOO funny!

Then there was another birthday cupcake…

We were all really sad that the trip was coming to an end…but the next morning as we packed our last minute things and boarded the Magical Express…we knew it wasn’t good-bye, but “See ya real soon!”

We are all booked for next time, and looking forward to making more magical memories together!

Disney World 2010- Day 8

How fun is it to wake up in Disney World on your birthday??? Well…let me tell you…Sami thought it was amazing!!! I had some big plans and big surprises for her 6th birthday…

All week she had been commenting on the little girls walking around who had visited the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. There are two locations, and it is a very popular place for little girls to get made into a princess! Every time she would mention it we would quickly come up with an excuse of why we couldn’t do it… I usually blamed it on my lack of ability to get an appointment. Thankfully I booked the appointment before we ever left-it is like the restaurants…hard to get in!!!!

We went to Downtown Disney…as we were walking towards the store Sami noticed that all of the stores were closed. She asked…”why are we here if it isn’t even open???” We broke the exciting news that we were on our way to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique…and she nearly peed her pants from excitement! My mom has a great shot of her excited face on her camera!

When we walked in they gave her a royal invitation! When they found out it was her birthday they pulled out all the stops! She got a special birthday sash, and they announced that “birthday princess Samantha has arrived”…so special!!!

There are a few different package options. We decided to let her do the whole kit and caboodle…we usually get her a costume from the Disney Store for Halloween anyways, and without doing a birthday party this year…we made out WAY ahead! Ha!

She got to choose any costume in the store…she chose Ariel the bride. She put it on (it came with dress, shoes, tiara, and wand) and met her Fairy Godmother in Training (FGIT) who was SO sweet!

Sami chose the princess diva look. There was a really sweet little bun look that I thought was really precious, but Sami wanted the pink extension fun look. So…she got her hair done…pink extensions and all…

Then she got her makeup done…

279281

Followed by her nails…

278

Then she made a wish…followed by those famous “magic” words and a sprinkling of fairy dust…

282283

She got her birthday sash and the crown…and poof! Our princess!

The package also included a photo session in the studio with the Photopass photographers. It also included prints (which to me are the real value! Ha!) People look at me like I’m CRAZY when I say we went to BBB, but if you add up all of the items and products she went home with (she got to keep the makeup and nail polish too) the service itself really isn’t that much. Besides…how often are you at Disney World on your 6th birthday?? Winking smile

Sami and I waiting on a bus to our next surprise…

Day 8 will continue in another post…ha….

Disney Family Movie Night- Aristocats

Sami was really excited for this weeks movie. I must admit…I was too! I have watched bits and pieces before, but this is one of those movies where I have never watched from start to finish…

I knew I wanted to serve French food, but I didn’t want to get too authentic for fear that no one would actually eat anything! Matt and I made French onion soup…

003

We also had French bread, grapes and cheese, and chocolate covered strawberries for dessert.

001

We even drank out of wine glasses…here is Sami with her milk! Ha!

002

For an activity Sami taught us a little ballet class. We learned a lot, but don’t ask me to show you because I don’t know if I can remember anything…except maybe first position! She had us on the floor and doing lots of stretches…yikes…she is flexible!!!

Skylar is still not feeling well, so it was off to bed for her… The rest of us snuggled on the couch (Sami with her Marie stuffed animal) and watched The Aristocats. It was really cute!

Up next week… Peter Pan!
