Disney Family Movie Night- Mulan
Sami and I started out the evening by making Chinese lanterns. They were simple and fun, but added a fun little touch.
Then we wrote our names and little “fortunes” in Mandarin with a chart I found online.
We used these for our next craft. We made fortune cookies using cupcake liners. Sami wanted to make them all night!
Of course the perfect meal for this theme was take-out Chinese.
We all tried to eat with chopsticks. I must say…Sami was pretty good with them! I think she stuck it out longer than Matt and I! We ate our fortune cookies for dessert, and settled in to watch the movie.
We chose this movie because Sami said she had never watched it!!! I am pretty sure she had, but it is my good friend Cassie’s favorite…and last fall we were on a mission to find Mulan in China at Epcot for a good photo op. I think we were successful…
Up next….Lilo and Stitch!

Easter Morning
Sami was excited to see what the bunny had brought her…
Skylar wasn’t too sure why there were new fun things in a basket on the coffee table. After all…baskets are pretty common in this house
But she quickly caught on that this was a fun day…
Skylar loved her Thumper bunny and her cotton candy!! She was SO excited as Matt was opening it!
And this was the look I got when I asked if she wanted to share with me.
Sami got a Miss Bunny and some fun Littlest Pet Shops.
Then they were off to hunt for eggs! Skylar quickly decided this was silly, but Sami loved it.
Instead of candy in the eggs the bunny brought the girls Disney trading pins for our trip! What a smart bunny!
Then it was time for church…and the girls looked gorgeous in their Easter dresses!
After church we went to my mom and dads. The girls arrived to eggs ALL over the front yard. Skylar was a little more into this hunt…perhaps because she was more awake. Ha!
The Easter bunny also left fun surprises in tote baskets for the girls at Nana and Papas. The bunny hid Skylar’s in her cozy coupe car…she moved the basket and got in her car to play. So sweet.
Sami received some Zoobles which have been a HUGE hit! Who knew???
We had a nice dinner, and played with the girls new toys. It was a lovely day!

Disney Family Movie Night- Cinderella
I love Cinderella, so I was super excited about this movie night! I wasn’t in the mood to make anything fancy (i.e. creative) so we had a “royal feast” for dinner.
On the menu:
-Rotisserie Chicken
- Pot Roast
-Mashed Potatoes
-Green Beans
-Salad
-Croissant
We used real napkins and drank out of wine glasses. Super fancy
Activities
I tried to get the girls to dust for me as if they were little Cinderella’s in rags…they didn’t take the bait!!! Ha! So…we had music lessons like Anastasia and Drizella…
Sami is starting to learn to read music…she can play Mary Had a Little Lamb! (I had NO idea she could do this!)
Skylar had fun with music lessons as well…
Then the clock struck “midnight” at somehow my “glass slippers” were all over the house! So off they went to collect them.
We had a short intermission for bath time…then we settled in for the movie.
We also had our dessert at this time. Fairy Godmother wands…also known as chocolate covered pretzel rods.
Skylar is starting to enjoy watching things for short periods. She kept yelling at the tv…”Rellie!!!!” So maybe by the time our trip comes she will be more familiar with the princesses.
We met so many fun people from Cinderella last year…here is a trip down memory lane…
The carousel is also Cinderella themed…
We are all really looking forward to eating at Cinderella’s Royal Table for Sami’s birthday this year…
One of our favorite meals last year was at 1900 Park Fare. We met Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine, Anastasia, and Drizella! I think it was my favorite character interaction! This trip the girls will be dresses as Anastasia and Drizella…I am sure those silly step sisters will FLIP over this!
We took such a long break from our movie nights…I can’t remember what movie is up next…but I’m sure we will have a blast!
