Disney Family Movie Night- Cars

This week for Disney Family Movie Night we were watching cars. Sami had a Nutcracker rehearsal in the afternoon, so I decorated the table before we left.

002

I made a road with yellow crepe paper, and scrounged up some cars to sit at the table with us. Our plates were “hub caps” on top of checkered flag placemats.003 The menu:

-Car sandwiches (sloppy joe on a hoagie with cucumber wheels)

-Mac’s Wacky Mac n Cheese

-Sally’s Sweet Slices (mandarin oranges)

-Lightening McQueen Red punch

004

Our activity was making stop light cookies for our dessert. 005

About half way through the movie I served dessert.

-Luigi’s pile of tires

008

-Filmore’s Motor Oil Sundae’s

Poor Skylar has a nasty cold, so after she devoured her “Sally’s Sweet Slices” she went to bed. So…once again…no movie for her, but it made eating ice cream much easier with her fast asleep.

Next week’s Disney Family Movie Night: Pocahontas

I'm going to have to remember your ideas and just totally copy you in a few years! ;)

Seriously, you hands-down win the fun mom award! VERY creative!

My friend Sara used to do this when her kids were a little younger. She'd have the kitchen decorated when they came home from school, they'd eat the themed dinner, and then the kids had to guess what movie was on the agenda for that night.
